The life begins

Yesterday we got home with Emilia, and the first night and day have been about learning the ropes of managing with this new human being who requires our attention. It is so new that it is hard to say how it will be, but yes, indeed, our life really has changed :-)

I have always have this great fondness for the activity known simply as sleeping. Especially weekend mornings. There goes that one, straight out of the window. How would one sleep when there are better things to do, about five times a night? Well, I gather it will take time to establish regular patterns, so keeping fingers crossed.

You all would be glad to hear that we think she is doing great. Eating a lot, and pooping more. I am proud to report that today the poop color is olive green, and she has produced at least half a dozen time - way more than expected of a kid her age. I think she may be a prodigy. Note: Before her arrival I was kind of amused by the intense poop color and amount discussions of baby parents - but now I get it. It is kind of a cool topic, in a twisted sort of way...

She likes her parents a lot as well. (Hope this stays through the teenage years.) Namely, she really does not like to sleep on her own in the bed, but is especially comfortable either snuggled tightly with her mother, or alternatively in her father's arms. (That i do not hope stays through the teenage years)

First excursion out is tomorrow, to visit our pediatrician. I am sure she will confirm the prodigy status of our offspring. More updates on that later.

All in all, things are not yet in their groove, so we are a little bit jumpy and uncertain, but learning at full speed. And she just is so cute that it hurts :-)

The new life has begun.
