And life goes on

The literature exploits have begun. First order of the day, a research program into sheep and cows.

This week has seen real big developments in Emilia's interaction with the world. She is now really starting to reach for things, swat and grasp stuff - and that may keep her entertained in her rocker for a while, just by herself. So nice.

There is a constant stream of babbling, and drooling. No wonder she wants to eat all the time, with all the liquid flowing (not dripping, flooding!) out of her mouth. She must be so dehydrated.

I have now got past the one major thing that was gnawing at the back of my brain, making me doubt my capabilities as dad. Namily, I have given Emilia a bath twice in a row without a single whisper of bad will. It feels so good. It was not me and my clumsy attempts after all. She just hated bading. Until the right time. Now it is standard to be even slightly excited in the bath, and screaming happens only when life sucks otherwise as well. Like, sometimes, quite often it does for a 3 month old.

And then, we have dared finally to conduct the famous family test of book preference, introduced by Sammeli and first passed with flying colors by Peppi. Thankfully, Emilia also passed - even a slightly more hardcore version of the test. There is nothing more warming to the physics major parents than their sweet little daughter already showing her preference for quantum mechanics over some silly book of cows with red dots. Yeah! The real stuff! And who has heard of cows with red dots anyway?
