It is hitting now, little by little. Hard to remember to write. Hard to devise new funky topics to write about. Readership declining. Weekly visitors have halved in a month. No one cares anymore. Snif.
Birth of Emilia was the high point. Is it now slow decline into oblivion with the blog? Let's see. I'll keep on trying. Any case it looks like it will not be several times a week, not necessarily even once a week. Maybe less often.
Funny enough, there actually is some new things happening. Life with Emilia necessarily does not mean big new things every day anymore, but it definitely means big new things every week! Last week was busy with tummu and tuora visiting (yes, they actually are real words meaning gradma and grandpa. Lestijokilaakso only, I understand). It was a lot of fun, actually. We also got some good hints, especially for bathing (Emilia still strongly dislikes baths - but no more can I say she absolutely hates it, it is a little bit milder now. Still worth sobbing). Tummu almost succeeded in getting Emilia to start using a pacifier. Worked for one evening, and never again thereafter... Tricky.
There is clearly change happening with Emilia: I would call it from a "baby phase 1" to "baby phase 2". Key in this difference is that she actually (thankfully) is willing and able to spend time by herself. Sitting in the very useful baby rocker (thanks Judy and Antti - we love it already!), or (as mentioned in last post) ogling at her black and white animal friends at the changing table for several minutes. Who knows what is going on in the mind when she just keeps staring at me in the eys for minutes (I blink first, always. Tried it). Seems that she can now get comfort just from the presence - sight or voice - of me or Maria, not necessarily only from being held. This is good. Real good. There are also first signs of reaching for some objects, though not very coordinated yet. Also a very clear sense of ownership... She has taken the habit of grabbing hard and not letting go of... well, the food container that she loves so much. Funny :-)
Smiling becomes more frequent every day. Not yet often, not yet consistent. But when it happens, life is really good in our family.

Kiitos viimeisestä. Oli ihana käydä. Olemme molemmat ihan sekaisin Emiliasta. Odotamme innolla seuraavaa tapaamista. On melkoisen suuri vaara, että alan kulkea valokuvanippu keskisuuressa käsilaukussa ja näytän niitä kaikille ohikulkijoille, jotka suostuvat pysähtymään.
En kyllä tarkoittanut olevani anonyymi, vaan ihan rohkeasti anoppi vaan.
Teksti pitää kuitenkin kutinsa.
