Morning glory

Whee. It has been busy times. Lots of gransparents visiting, and then I did my first business trip to Finland after Emilia's birth. Busy, busy. And when you are busy, you are tired, and when you are tired you do not remember to blog. So sad. Things are still great, and our little princess is growing and learning every moment.

One thing that struck me one day (actually, one early morning to be exact) is that our girl seems to be an early riser. I have for most of my life been just a little bit annoyed at all those people who wake up at 7am or 6am or 5am, full of energy and excitement. I mean, come on, it is just not normal to go for a five-mile run before work. No, it is not. Well, our girl seems to be bursting with joy and happiness well by 6am and wants nothing more than babble and smile at her mommy - and at the same time making sure her dad's beauty sleep gets cut short. Morning person. What a drag.

Emilia is pretty opinionated and feelings run from extreme ends to the other at a rapid pace. She is a major smiler, especially when looking at her dad (of course!) - and this is no slight wrinkling of the lips, but a full mouth expression of happiness - but man is she also capable of getting really pissed off. Usually when she screams really loud it is not due to hunger or poop, but instead of a reason of mild discomfort turning in 10 seconds into a major firestorm if not attended to. And she can scream, oh yes she can. Adding to the discomfort factor, tummyaches come and go pretty frequently. I guess it is part of this age. One day can be several hours of crankiness (I have been lucky(?) to not be present at these times), but usually they pass rather fast.

After few weeks of charming the grandfolks, it is now time to extend the circle. In a true midsummer fashion, we attended a small Finnish picnic in NY yesterday, and she was the darling of everyone (again, of course!), and today we'll go to a barbecue where we can extend the legions of charmed further.

Oh, by the way... have you ever heard of a two-month-old who slept seven hours in a row? I had not either before a few days back. Emilia is generally a pretty good sleeper in the night - after she dozes off properly around 9 or 10, and before the morning glory begins. That, I dare say, is excellent. Good baby.

An expression rich video of Emilia has been just uploaded to http://share.ovi.com/media/vsammalk.public/Vsammalk.10037

Mahtava video, mitkä ilmeet, wau! Tuo taustalla näkyvä oluttölkki ehkä hieman epäilyttää... ;) Hei lisää päivityksiä blogiin, täällä on kasapäin purkamatonta tätienergiaa!
