I have the great pleasure to announce that I have decided to reward my future daughter with a white belt in karate. This is primarily due to her consistent performance in energetic kicking. I am not sure whether my official credentials for awarding grades are still valid, but even if not, I believe I still have a very strong case for this one.
White belt is given to a newcomer to the art as a symbol of promise, pure and clean. Before you really start learning anything, but after you have shown commitment to join the crowd. In my books, the kid has shown plenty, both in being able to kick her father through the belly, and also in throwing somersaults (or something that seems to feel akin) in such a tight space.
I can't wait to start the lessons for real.
Anyway, I had a nice trip to Finland. I had the chance to meet friends and family, and talk baby with quite a few folks. I witnessed for the first time both Peppi and Panu walking. Both of them born so short while back, it is just amazing how time flies.
